Not Another habit tracker!
I started Another to practise mobile design and build the habit tracker I kept looking for: multi-select habits, days I could skip without breaking a streak, and a restrained, considered interface.
The goal was to make daily tracking feel simple and satisfying, with enough flexibility to fit how I actually build habits.
More than done or not done
Some habits need more than a yes or no. I wanted to record different activities within one habit, with more than one option on the same day.
Another supports both binary and multi-select habits. Selected options appear as coloured segments around the day, keeping the detail visible in the calendar.
Room for a skipped day
I wanted a planned break to feel different from missing a day. Skipped days should preserve streaks, but also be visually distinct from completed days.
The intention is to make room for imperfect routines where momentum matters more than perfection.
Keeping the interface restrained
I kept the interface restrained so the habits and their history could do most of the talking. Clear type, consistent spacing, and a limited palette give the screen structure. Colour is most prominent where it communicates activity.

Putting it to the test
I tested the app with two people. Creating a habit exposed a problem I hadn't fully accounted for during design: the keyboard changed how the dialog worked on a small screen.
Moving to the next input wasn't always what they wanted. Sometimes they wanted to dismiss the keyboard and see the rest of the form. One person tried dragging down to close it, so I added that gesture. It was a useful reminder that the flow needed to support pausing and looking around, as well as progressing to the next field.
Release, then keep learning
The first version is built, with App Store release still pending. My priority is to get it into people's hands and learn from regular use.
Insights is the next area I want to improve, but I chose not to hold up the core experience while trying to perfect a secondary screen. Features such as widgets can follow once I understand where they would be useful.
